There will be a Buddha Sakyamuni prayer session on 5th August (Tuesday at 8pm), specifically to enable participants to accumulate merits.  Devotees can register for lamp offering at $5 each.

ANNIVERSARY OF GURU PADMASAMBHAVA'S BIRTH

The tenth day of the sixth Tibetan month (11th August 2008) is the anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava’s birth from a lotus at Dhanakhosha Lake amid wondrous signs.  Also known as Guru Rinpoche and the second Buddha, he was the emanation of Buddha Amitabha, and whose coming was prophesised by Lord Buddha in the Sutras and Tantras. It is said that the more delusions and difficulties there are, the swifter and more powerful he is.  When the Tibetans need blessings or protection, their natural reflex is to invoke Guru Rinpoche, and when great masters face crises, even they call out to him as their ultimate source of refuge.

The 1 Million Vajra Guru Mantra Accumulation

Vajra Guru Mantra:
"OM AH HUNG BENZA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUNG"

Accumulation Date:
27/07/2008 to 11/08/2008

In conjunction with the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambahava, our centre will conduct the accumulation of the Vajra Guru Mantra Recitation starting from 27th July to 11th August 2008. Devotees may do the accumulation at home, there will only be group accumulation on the 10th & 11th August. You are strongly encouraged to engage in this wholesome activity with us!

The general objectives of this program are to pray for:

Ø      Buddha Dharma to be ever-flourishing even during this degenerate age,
Ø
Peace, happiness and harmony to prevail in this world,
Ø
Warfare, famines and sicknesses to be eliminated.

The core objectives of this program are:

Ø   To pray for the longevity and good health of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche.
