NAMCHO MAHAKALA PUJA

H.E. Tulku Mugsang Kuchen Rinpoche will be joining the Namcho Mahakala Puja on 30th & 31st October 2010. On 31st October after the completion of puja, Tulku will be giving blessing and distributing the Late His Holiness Penor Rinpoche Kudhung Rilbu to all devotees.

H.H. Penor Rinpoche Kudhung Rilbu

Kudhung Rilbus are holy pills made of nectar droplets from His Holiness holy body during his thugdham (meditation stage).

When His Holiness passed away, he was resting in the clear light nature for 7 days experiencing the primordial wisdom. During that time, nectar flowed out from his holy body as a sign of enlightenment.

The Holy Pill is very precious and sacred where one can receive blessings. You can put this Holy Pill in a locket pendant and wear it as a protection. You may also consecrate it in a statue, stupa or any holy object and placed it on the shrine or in front of you, when you are doing your prayers, practices and prostrations to receive blessing and protection too.

Our centre will conduct the Namcho Mahakala Puja from 29/10 to 31/10 in conjunction with Lha Bab Duchen, which falls on 29/10.

Lha Bab Duchen is one of the 4 great festivals of Lord Buddha, Sakyamuni. On this day, Buddha Sakyamuni descent from heaven. Buddha's mother was reborn in Indra's Heaven. In order to repay her kindness, to liberate her and to benefit the Gods, Buddha spent 3 months teaching in the realm of God. On this day, all positive and negative actions are multiplied by 10 million times.

Mahakala, a protector of the Buddhist teachings, is also known as the chief dharmapala.  Dharmapalas are basically Buddhas who undertake the role of removing obstacles on the path of practitioners.

The objective of Mahakala is to assist practitioners in removing anything that impedes their practice, as well as to encourage exertion and devotion and at the same time purify obscurations and wrongdoings.  Blessings will be bestowed and obstacles will be removed if one prays earnestly to Mahakala.

So long as one attends the prayer sessions and continually makes prayers and offerings to Mahakala, the protections of Mahakala and His retinue will not depart from oneself until perfect awakening is experienced.  Mahakala prayers also foster peacefulness in a country, harmony at home and better career prospects.

The program is as follows:

* On 29/10 all positive & negative actions are multiplied by 10 million times. *

Sponsorship / Donation towards Nyung Ne Retreat

The merit from sponsoring someone to do a Nyung-Ne is the same as if one does it oneself. You can also take the opportunity to make special dedications for the sick, for success of projects and in exams, for quick resolution to problems, for the perfect human rebirth of the recently deceased, and for the halt to global warming and for world peace.

The motivation for dana (giving), one of the Buddhist Six Perfections (paramitas), is utterly pure - free from all desire, conceit or misguided views. Thus in the perfection of giving one should seek no return for oneself and be impartial, like the sun: that casts its radiance over all without a hint of favor.

In ultimate terms, there is no giver, no recipient and nothing is given - yet we still give! This is an important insight. Generosity is a positive virtue we can practice. It is a good way of developing a shift away from basically egocentric orientation.

The ego is always trying to expand its province by accumulating, whereas to freely give is to reverse this 'I' building process so that for once the energy flows the other way.
Naturally, one may gain merit from giving, but even this can be given away to benefit all sentient beings.

Those who wish to sponsor / make voluntary donation towards the nyung ne you may do so in the following ways:

1) Cheque Donation, please indicate on a piece of paper:
          - "Donation for Nyung Ne Retreat"

          - Donor / sponsor name and mailing address

2) For cash in kind, please proceed to our centre to make the donation.
