CHOD
PUJA

** There'll be a short explanation on "Chod" on 05/09
(Sat,8pm) translated in Chinese, follow by the puja. **
There
will be Chod Puja on 5th, 12th & 19th September
(Saturday, 8pm) in our centre, which will be
conducted by Tara Rinpoche together with our lamas. Tara
Rinpoche has been practicing Chod for more than 30
years. He is well-versed in this practice and has fully
completed it. It is indeed very fortunate for us to be
able to participate in the Chod Puja leads by him.
Chod
means to severe or cut through one's ego. The main
practice is to recognize the defilement of ego clinging,
attachment to self and phenomena, which obstruct the
Path to Enlightenment. This method is used to rid the
root of defilement, that is the ego clinging, and all
the subsequent defilements such as hatred, desire, and
ignorance that arise from it.
Chod
rites aimed at first invoking through wrath then
liberating through compassion all negativities that
causes diseases, accidents and all non-conducive
conditions. At the puja, one visualizes making an
offering of one’s physical body, being severed and
transformed into nectars as offerings to Triple-Gems,
Three-Root, demons, six-realm beings and karmic debtors.
This is effective for purification of sickness,
incurable diseases, cancers, mental illness, depression,
personal problems, removing visible and invisible
obstacles and especially for those who have disturbance
caused by evil spirit. It also benefits us in our daily
needs such as prosperity, health, and longevity.
Devotees
are welcome to sit in during the practice to receive the
blessing. Participants may make lamp offering at
$5 each or make a voluntary donation for
the purchase of offerings required for this
practice.

LONGCHEN
NYINGTHIG MAHKALA PUJA
With the
continuous requests from devotees to help remove
obstacles that they are facing with their jobs, careers,
personal problems and etc., our centre will be
conducting a 3 days Longchen Nyingthig Mahakala Puja
from 25th to 27th September. This puja will be
lead by Tara Rinpoche together with our resident
lamas.
Mahakala,
a protector of the Buddhist teachings, is also known as
the chief dharmapala. Dharmapalas are basically Buddhas
who undertake the role of removing obstacles on the path
of practitioners.
The
objective of Mahakala is to assist practitioners in
removing anything that impedes their practice, as well
as to encourage exertion and devotion and at the same
time purify obscurations and wrongdoings. Blessings
will be bestowed and obstacles will be removed if one
prays earnestly to Mahakala.
So long
as one attends the prayer sessions and continually makes
prayers and offerings to Mahakala, the protections of
Mahakala and His retinue will not depart from oneself
until perfect awakening is experienced. Mahakala prayers
also foster peacefulness in a country, harmony at home
and better career prospects.
** Sunday Puja will ends at 5.00pm instead
of 9.30pm as indicated on the hardcopy newsletter **

Dzambhala
is the god of wealth. Though it still is a worldly god,
