Introduction on
Meditation and the Proper Posture
The first step in meditation is correct
physical posture. This is commonly describe as the seven
aspects of Vairocana. Vairocana means "what
illuminates, what makes clear." So Vairocana is the physical
posture of sitting that helps one develop a meditative state
and makes the mind stable and clear.
Body and mind are related. At the subtle
level, the body consists of the outer and inner forms.
The outer form is our physical body, and the inner form
is the channels and prana. It is said that if the body
is straight, the channels are straight; and if the
channels are straight, then the wind-prana flows
straight. When the channels and prana are straight, the
mind becomes balanced, calm and clear. So having a
correct and upright posture causes one's mind naturally
to come to rest in a state of tranquility or peace.
Don't miss this
wonderful opportunity to receive this teaching directly
