HIS HOLINESS KARMA KUCHEN RINPOCHE

The 5th Karma Kuchen Rinpoche was born in India with many auspicious signs. When He was 4 years old, both the late H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche and H.H. Penor Rinpoche confirmed that this child is the unmistaken incarnation of the 4th Karma Kuchen Rinpoche (Karma Thegchog Nyingpo) in their meditations. He was then invited to Namrdoling Monastery where H.H. Penor Rinpoche looked after and provided him with basic education. H.H. Karma Kuchen Rinpoche studied and perfected teachings of Namcho preliminaries (ordinary and extraordinary), Tsalung and up to Dzogpachenpo under direct guidance of H.H. Penor Rinpoche. He also took the Bhikshu and Bodhisattva vows, and received the Namcho, Ratna Lingpa’s revelations and Rinchen Terzoed empowerments from H.H. Penor Rinpoche. In addition, he received many teachings under the late H.H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Dodrupchen Rinpoche, Nyoshul Khenpo Rinpoche, and many other great siddhas.

H.H. Penor Rinpoche appointed him as Head of Palyul Mother Monastery in Tibet in 1994. On 14 Aug 2000, he was formally enthroned as lineage holder of The Palyul Lineage and is now the 12th Throne Holder of The Palyul Lineage. Equipped with inconceivable wisdom, grace and boundless compassion, he has vowed to bring peace and happiness to all sentient beings and spread the supreme Dharma in the 10 directions. Of the many remarkable qualities that he possesses, the most striking quality is his strict and pure observance of all the vows of a monk. He is thus the embodiment of pure conduct in these degenerate times.

VAJRASATTVA EMPOWERMENT

Vajrasattva is Buddha of primordial purity and is the condensed essence of the 100 peaceful and wrathful appearances that arises in the Bardo. Vajrasattva practice is an essential element in the daily practice of a Vajrayana practitioner as it helps in purifying all sorts of negativities and bad karma. He is known as the king of purification.

The Vajrasattva empowerment would be conferred based on the cycle of terma (treasure) teachings discovered by Minling Terdag Lingpa. Receiving this empowerment brings great blessing, creates strong bond with Vajrasattva, and in this way it is also very helpful in performing the meditation of Vajrasattva as a part of the preliminary practices.

VAJRASATTVA PUJA & FIRE PUJA

Traditionally, Vajrasattva practice is known to help the deceased in their Bardo to purify negative karma, obscurations and obstacles. The main focus for this Vajrasattva puja is to allow us to purify our own karma, obscuration and to repair the broken samaya that we have in relation with our Guru, the late H.H. Pema Norbu Rinpoche. Through this purification puja, we can create positive condition for everyone and also to those who are directly or indirectly connected to this anniversary puja.

Fire Puja, Jin Sek (offering burning), is considered a very powerful skilful means practice of the Vajrayana as fire is one of the five powerful elements. This Vajrasattva Fire Puja mainly focuses on pacifying negativities and obstacles while increasing prosperity, joy, peace, longevity and realization.

GURU YOGA PRACTICE

The Guru Yoga practice allows us to receive blessings from our great Guru, the late His Holiness Pema Norbu Rinpoche, and supplicate for his swift rebirth to continue to guide and liberate us together with all sentient beings through his compassion and enlightened manifestation.

Devotees are strongly encouraged to join us in this practice together with the Vajra Master and lamas.

MAHAKALA PUJA

Mahakala, protector of Buddhist teachings, assists practitioners in removing anything that impedes their practice, as well as to encourage exertion and devotion and at the same time purify obscurations and wrongdoings.  The protection of Mahakala and His retinue will not depart from oneself until perfect awakening is experienced.  Mahakala prayers also foster peacefulness in a country, harmony at home and better career prospects.

LAMP OFFERING TO THE LATE H.H. PEMA NORBU RINPOCHE

During the 3 days anniversary puja, there will be 108 exclusive large candles available for sponsorship at S$88 per piece. We will also be lighting 3000 lamps daily to offer to the late His Holiness Pema Norbu Rinpoche, to symbolise the enlightened clear mind of His Holiness, where one will be able to accumulate merits and wisdom.

Through the merits accumulated during this puja, one will receive great benefit of wealth, to be reborn in deva or human realm, and to swiftly attain liberation and enlightenment. Just like how lamp illuminates, to dispel the darkness of ignorance.

We hope you can join us in lighting 3000 lamps daily, which will be offer to His Holiness and at the same time, accumulate merits and wisdom with everyone.
