HIS HOLINESS DRUBWANG PEMA NORBU
RINPOCHE
Khenpo
Ngaga, one of the most important Dzogchen masters, and the
fifth Dzogchen Rinpoche recongised His Holiness the Third
Penor Rinpoche as the emanation of the great Dzogchen master
Vimalamitra and reincarnation of second Drubwang Pema Norbu
Rinpoche.
His Holiness possesses super natural
trans-worldly secret miracles and accomplishments which are
irreverent and inappropriate to make them public.
His Holiness at the age of
twelve ascended the Golden Throne as the Eleventh Throne
Holder of Palyul Lineage. He is a master who embodies the
foresight of Manjushri, the compassion of Avalokiteshvara,
and the dynamism of Vajrapani. It is very auspicious for us
to have the chance to receive blessings from a supreme
master as His Holiness Penor Rinpoche. This time devotees in
Singapore will be blessed with teachings & empowerment by
His Holiness from 30th November to 3rd December 2006.

AMITABHA BUDDHA
Literally,
Amitabha Buddha is the Buddha of Infinite Light, he is the
Transcendent Buddha of the West, and Lord of the Lotus Clan.
He represents the transmutation of Lust into discrimination
wisdom and the purity of the conceptual aggregate. His
colour is ruby. Associated with the Buddha Amitayus
(Infinite Life) and the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, he is
widely known outside of the tantric Buddhism as the Buddha
of the Blissful Pure Land in the West (Sukhavati).
Shakyamuni
Buddha revealed that the pure land of Sukhavati came into
existence as the result of the stainless motivation and pure
practice of Amitabha.
It is into
this pureland that, after death in this world, the faithful
devotees of Amitabha are born. Where they receive teachings
from Amitabha himself and from countless other Buddhas
inhabiting this realm. Experiencing none of the cyclic
existence and forever free from having to take lower
rebirth, these fortunate beings progress irreversibly toward
enlightenment and eventually attain Buddhahood.

GURU
RINPOCHE EMPOWERMENT
Guru
Rinpoche, which means "The Precious Master" in Tibetan. He
is also known as Guru Padmasambhava, a manifestation of
Amitabha Buddha. He was born in a Lotus Flower, in Oddiyana
Lake amid wondrous signs. Due to His great realization and
spiritual powers, He created the conditions for the
propagation of Vajrayana teachings in this world.
He is particularly powerful when negative emotions are
stronger and confusions are greater. It is said that the
more confusions and difficulties, the more powerful Guru
Rinpoche is. Even great masters when face with crisis, they
too call upon Him for help. Through his everlasting
compassion and diverse skilful means, he concealed numerous
teachings (termas) for future generations.
Guru
Rinpoche had said: “If you want blessings and
accomplishments to come very swiftly, visualize me, Guru
Padmasambhava, with the perfect qualities of all the Buddhas
of the three times, with all the blessings and
accomplishments of the peaceful and wrathful deities of the
secret, inner and outer tantras, as well as the sacred
teachings of the Dakas and Dakinis.”

PHOWA TEACHING
Phowa (consciousness transference) teaching. This teaching
will enable the devotees to take rebirth in the pure realm
even though one has not been able to put much time to
practice provided that one has observed and maintained
stable faith and clean samaya.
The
followings are excerpts from His Holiness Penor Rinpoche
teachings:
An
extraordinary method that leads to rebirth in the Pure Land
of Great Bliss (Dewachen)of Amitabha Buddha.
“Though it
is important to think spiritually of one’s own benefit and
how one can attain enlightenment,
still the achievement of that kind of liberation is by the
path of benefiting all sentient beings.
Without that kind of Bodhicitta one cannot attain complete
enlightenment.
Amitabha Buddha, for example, ultimately achieved that kind
of results from his generation of Bodhicitta
and his accumulation over many countless years of practices
of commitments and aspiration prayers.
If one has single-pointed devotion to Amitabha Buddha and
one carries through all of these supplication prayers,
then even oneself as an ordinary person with an afflicted
mind can be reborn in His Pure Land.
It is all because of Amitabha Buddha’s special aspiration
prayers.”

BARDO
TEACHING
Bardo (intermediate state - a life in between the death &
next rebirth) teachings. This is important as it explains
the sufferings that any ordinary deceased person will
encounter and methods and skills to recognize and avoid
them.

FOUR FOUNDATION
ORAL TRANSMISSION
Oral transmission on the preliminary practice of Namchoe
(space treasure) by treasure revealer, Migyur Dorjee, from
Payul lineage. This practice is the main foundation of
realizing the reality and achieve sublime liberation.
|
|
Mahakala, a
protector of the Buddhist teachings, is also known as the
chief dharmapala. Dharmapalas are basically Buddhas who
undertake the role of removing obstacles on the path of
practitioners.
The
function of Mahakala is to assist practitioners in removing
anything that impedes their practice, as well as to
encourage exertion and devotion and at the same time purify
obscurations and wrongdoings. Thus if one pray earnestly to
Mahakala, blessings will be bestowed and obstacles will be
removed.
So long as
one participates in the prayer sessions and continually make
prayers and offerings to Mahakala, the protections of
Mahakala and His retinue will not depart from oneself until
perfect awakening is experienced. Mahakala prayers also
foster peacefulness in a country, harmony at home and better
career prospects.

Making Tsog offerings is supreme among all the merits and all
of one’s wishes will be fulfilled in this life. Interfering
forces and obstacles will also be pacified and broken
samayas will be purified.

The lamp
symbolizes the light of wisdom that dispels the darkness of
ignorance. This specific offering is made with the sincere
motivation of cultivating pristine awareness and wisdom in
the hearts of beings, thereby eliminating from its very root
the shadow of ignorance that is the source of all misery in
the world.
As
expounded by Lord Buddha in the Sutra of Clarifying Karma,
making lamp offerings would also allow one to receive great
enjoyment of wealth, to be reborn in the deva or human
realm, and to swiftly attain liberation and enlightenment.

symbolize beauty and truth. When the sweet fragrance of
flowers envelops the whole environment, the seed of virtue
is sowed in the minds of all devotees present. Flower
offering serves the purpose of leading all beings towards
the ultimate truth that is in its essence, beauty.
